It is with a heavy heart that I let the Crabs know that our teammate Robert J. Vera passed away Sunday November 29, 2009. The following is taken from Caller.com
Robert Joseph Vera 24, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away, Sunday, November 29, 2009. Robert graduated from Richard King High School in 2003, and was employed at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. Robert was a giving person and loved to skateboard, watch movies, rugby, UFC, Dallas Cowboys, his 4X4 truck, and loved life. He is survived by his parents, Roland and Martina Vera, Jr.; brother, Roland A. (Savannah) Vera and their son, Roland A. Vera, Jr.; sister, Ruby Vera and her son, Luis Rolando Aguilar; paternal grandparents, Rolando E. Vera and Marcela Villanueva; maternal grandparents, Jose Enrique and Rebecca Lerma; girlfriend, Graciela Perez all of Corpus Christi, Texas; godparents, David Y. and Nelda E. Juarez, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, and numerous aunts and uncles, and other family members. Visitation will begin 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel with a Rosary to be recited later that evening at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
